Five Question Friday

I saw this on a blog I follow, and I like the 5 questions, so I thought I'd give it a go.

This is sponsored by My Little Life, and the picture below is linked to her blog.

1. Would you rather be on ABC's Extreme Home Makeover or TLC's What Not to Wear?  Well considering that we live in an apartment, there isn't anything for Home Makeover to makeover.  Unless they just want to build us our dream home on some property they buy us too!  But I wouldn't mind the What Not to Wear.  Of course I wouldn't want to buy $5000 worth of clothes for my current size.
2. Do you have any tattoos?  Yes.  I have 2, with intentions of getting more.  These are the 2 I have.  The rose is on the inside of my left calf and the cross is on the outside of my right ankle.  The rose represents all the single red roses my H has gotten me during our relationship, and I intend on adding rosebuds below it for each kid I have.

The cross contains the initials of my best friend who died during my junior year of high school.  Not sure why I chose the sun and cross, but I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

Also planning on getting a sisters tattoo this summer (hopefully).  This is the design, which symbolizes the 3 stages of womanhood and there are 3 of us, so I think if fits doubly.

3. Do you tell your kids about things you did growing up?  Since I only have a 7 month old, this doesn't really apply.  But I don't intend on lying to him, or being a hypocrite.  If he asks, I'll tell him.  But I may try and apply some learning or life lesson.
4. If the traffic signal turns yellow, do you stop or speed up?  Depends.  50/50, I'll do either.  Depends on the road, if I'm rushing, or other factors.
5. What's your preference: chocolate or chips?  Chocolate, hands down.  I try to limit myself, but I usually have something chocolate once a day.

37 Weeks, Full Term!

I'm full term today!! Time certainly has flown.

I saw the doctor yesterday. I'll see her weekly until the baby is born. She did the Group B Strep test, which was no big deal. I'll probably find out the results next week. She also did an internal exam to see if I've progressed at all. For you moms-to-be- there was pressure and it was a bit uncomfortable but it didn't take her long to check. I also have had no spotting since then. She felt Baby Rebel's head (from the outside), and said he wasn't "engaged". Which I took to mean he hasn't dropped at all into the birth canal, considering how far up on my stomach she was feeling his head. She also said that I'm not dilated at all. I was kinda bummed about this since I was hoping for some progress at least. I am so over being pregnant. I'm so over it that I am ready for labor, and I am DREADING labor. That tells you how I'm doing. I'm just ready for the next step, and to have an outside baby.

Next week my appt is on Wednesday, which also happens to be my birthday so I'm really hoping for some progress by then!

How far along? 37 weeks
Total weight gain: I'm up about 4 lbs from 2 weeks ago. But since baby has probably gained about a 1lb since then, I'm really not worried about it.
How big is baby? From now till he's born he's considered the size of a watermelon. I don't want to think about having to push my little watermelon out!
Maternity clothes: Never needed them. I bought the Be Band from Target and I've used that.
Stretch marks: A few more of those red marks towards the top of my stomach.
Sleep: Awful. Moving is painful in my lower back and pelvis, but not moving isn't an option. Getting up to pee every 2 hours or so has become the norm.
Movement: He doesn't kick so much as just push. He's head down so all of his movement is towards the top of my stomach. He's gotten the hiccups quite a few times now. He's been much more active the last couple of days. But if he wants more space he needs to come out!
Food cravings: Nothing really. I eat a lot less than I did pre-pregnancy.
Food aversions: Nothing specific
Belly button: Still shallow, no popping.
What I'm looking forward to: This pregnancy to be over. I'm so sick of the pain and aches that I'm looking forward to labor. Just cuz I know there is an end to labor and a baby in my arms!
Weekly joy: Knowing that I'm full term, and there is almost a light at the end of my pregnancy tunnel!

20 Week Appt

Monday the 1st was our big day. We had our 20 week ultrasound. I scheduled the appointment early so that H could go with me. Our technician was awesome. She was really nice, and was easy to talk to through the whole ultrasound. She even shared a little bit of her experiences.

She said that while she may not see right off the bat what the gender was, she had enough measurements to take that at some point she should be able to tell us the gender. She she started, and the whole thing was amazing. Baby wasn't as clear as during our first ultrasound, but specific body parts were easy to spot. We could see the bones, the little fingers, and all 4 chambers of the heart. Baby Rebel moved quite a bit. When we started Baby was breech facing my back. By the end Baby Rebel was head down with their feet next to my belly button. The tech even asked me if I could feel the kicks that we could see baby making. But I felt nothing.

Once she was done she realized that she hadn't told us what the gender was. She said that she had an idea, but hadn't gotten a clear look. So she tried to look again. She never got a clear shot, but was able to tell us what she thought Baby Rebel "most likely" was. We've decided not to share with the world, until we know more certainly.

The following Thursday I got a call from my doctor's office. They said that they weren't able to see everything clearly, like a leg bone, so we would have to have a follow up ultrasound done. The follow up is scheduled for the 25th. So we'll wait till after that ultrasound to share what the gender of Baby Rebel is!

How far along? 20 weeks 6 days
Total weight gain: Still down 7lbs as far as I know. Won't change till I see the doctor on the 22nd.
How big is baby? At 20 weeks baby is the size of a cantaloupe...uh oh that's sounds pretty large! At 21 weeks, which I'm 1 day away from, baby is the length of a banana.
Maternity clothes: Still not needed!
Stretch marks: No new ones.
Sleep: Sleep has kinda gotten better. I'm actually going to the bathroom less.
Movement: And the waiting continues...
Food cravings: Jet's Pizza, ever since the Super Bowl.
Food aversions: Nothing specific
Belly button: The same
What I'm looking forward to: My mom and grandma coming for a visit today! I'm hoping they'll want to go baby shopping! Then I can finally make our first baby purchase!
Weekly Wisdom: Hmm, I don't feel very wise right now.
Weekly joy: Enjoying that sleep has gotten better. I know it is temporary, but I'll take it while it lasts.

18 Weeks

I saw the doctor Monday morning. Just a regular 4 week check-up. Standard weight, and blood pressure. I also got to hear the heartbeat for about a minute or so. Dr. Klyn said it was in the 150s, so that's really good. It was a huge relief when she immediately found the heartbeat and it was going strong.

I thought I'd be crazy anxious for February 1st to get here, but I'm not. Just knowing that the baby is fine is enough for me. Trust me, I want to know whether Baby Rebel is a boy or girl. I'm just not as impatient as I thought I'd be.

How far along?
18 weeks 3 days
Total weight gain: Saw the doctor Monday and I'm up 3lbs from 4 weeks ago. Still down nearly 7lbs since the beginning.
How big is baby? We've moved up to a sweet potato. About 7oz.
Maternity clothes: Nope, not needed
Stretch marks: No new ones.
Sleep: I think my body has finally decided I can't sleep on my stomach. Every time I lay on it, it hurts really bad. :-(
Movement: Still waiting
Food cravings: Chocolate, still.
Food aversions: Nothing specific
Belly button: The same
What I'm looking forward to: Finding out the gender on Monday!
Weekly Wisdom: Appreciate your sleep while you're still getting it, I know it will only get worse from here on out.
Weekly joy: Hearing the heartbeat Monday, and confirming that everything is A-OK with Baby Rebel. It's silly to worry, but I was slightly prior to hearing the heartbeat!

Food cravings: Chocolate
Food aversions: Nothing sounds specifically gross to me
Belly button: The same
What I'm looking forward to: Getting to hear the heartbeat again next Monday.
Weekly Wisdom: Show your appreciation for your husband.
